I will do my best to put into words how wonderful having her as my Doula was, but if there is any doubt my family was so blown away by her, even after I had made my final payment to Mariza for her services, my family paid her even more after I gave birth, because the work she did deserved so much more.

From the very beginning of hiring Mariza she was so thorough, informative, supportive, and available. No matter what questions I had she was available to respond to me in a quick timeframe and she never made me feel like anything I asked was silly. She was incredibly reassuring and always reminding me of how great this experience would be. Most of all, she used the word fun a lot, and we did have fun. Mariza was this bright energy throughout this entire experience and she always had both me and my husband laughing. Even somewhere in the 28 hours I was in labor and in excruciating pain, there is actually a photo of me on my bounce ball hysterically laughing because she was there helping me to find the joy in the moment. No matter how many instructions and demos she came over and gave to my husband to help me through labor, we both agreed that our experience would have been so different without her. She did not leave my side. She stayed up with me, massaged me, encouraged me, helped me stay hydrated, helped me eat when my body needed nourishment, and I never felt alone or like I did not have someone on my side. Even when I slept, she stayed awake to watch over me. She encouraged me to stay opened minded, even with a very specific birth plan. My experience went nothing like my birth plan, in fact the birth plan may as well have gotten thrown out the window.

My delivery was difficult and I faced quite a few challenges. She continued to reassure me that everything was ok and to not get overwhelmed and stuck on the changes, rather to go with the flow and embrace the moments. Mariza will forever be a special person in my life because of that experience and if I am so blessed to have another child, I truly hope I would be able to have her with me again. Mariza is a gift to the doula community and this work is exactly what she is meant to be doing, as a client, it’s important to see that in who you are working with. Mariza thank you for being so wonderful and making my childbirth experience easier, even through the difficulty. My family truly truly appreciates you and could never put a $ amount on the value you brought to us.
